Fox has officially announced the premiere of its revamped version of the beloved lifeguard series Baywatch, scheduled for Wednesday, January 6, at 9 PM. This announcement signifies a pivotal moment for the project, which seeks to merge the nostalgic essence of the original show with a modern storytelling approach.

Leading the cast is Stephen Amell, who takes on the role of Hobie Buchannon. In this new adaptation, Hobie is depicted as a rebellious legacy character serving as a Baywatch Captain, grappling with the pressures of living up to his iconic father, Mitch Buchannon.

Introducing a New Generation of Lifeguards

The storyline revolves around the unexpected arrival of Hobie’s daughter, Charlie Vale, portrayed by Jessica Belkin. Her quest to maintain the family’s esteemed legacy becomes a key driver of the season's main conflicts. The series is set to retain the thrilling rescue operations and intricate personal relationships that defined the original, but with a fresh twist for today’s viewers.

Alongside Amell and Belkin, the cast features Hassie Harrison as Nat, Shay Mitchell as Trina, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Noah Beck as Luke, and Brooks Nader as Selene. Notably, original cast member David Chokachi will return to reprise his role as Cody Madison. Additionally, Livvy Dunne will make her acting debut in a recurring role as Grace.
