Concept Art Unveiled

The initial glimpse of Robert Downey Jr. donning the Doctor Doom mask has been revealed, but the online community remains skeptical. Andy Park, a former director of the Marvel visual department, shared this concept art on X (formerly Twitter) on July 11, showcasing not only Downey Jr. but also several returning X-Men characters, including Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming), Beast (Kelsey Grammer), and Mystique (Rebecca Romijn). Notably, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is prominently featured in the center of the artwork. Park captioned the image, "AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY – the last full film I had the privilege to direct as Visual Development head at Marvel Studios. This illustration marks that journey and unveils the characters and their designs for the first time. #AvengersDoomsday.”

Skepticism Surrounds the Artwork

Internet Not Convinced With Doomsday Concept Art

Despite the excitement, many online users expressed doubt regarding Park's artwork. One fan questioned, "Is this a joke?" while another remarked, "Imagine explaining this poster to someone who stopped watching after Endgame." A third user commented, "Unfortunately, this resembles a nano banana, and as a Marvel enthusiast, it leaves me indifferent." Another user pointed out, "How does this 'reveal the characters and their looks for the FIRST TIME'? We already knew these characters would appear in the film, and their costumes have been seen in previous movies. Is this satire? I hope it is, and I'm just not getting it." Additionally, someone raised a pertinent question: “Why are Spider-Man and Doctor Strange absent?”
