Recent reports had indicated that the production of Tharun Moorthy’s upcoming Malayalam film, Athimanoharam, featuring Mohanlal, was stalled due to scripting complications. However, the director has clarified that the project is progressing smoothly. Tharun took to social media to share a fresh update from the filming location, confirming that work has resumed despite previous speculations. Just a day prior, he addressed concerns regarding delays and discussed the challenges faced by the team. This news is a relief for fans, as Athimanoharam is among Mohanlal’s most awaited projects.
Tharun Moorthy Refutes Claims of Production Halt
Recently, there were rumors suggesting that the filming of Athimanoharam had been temporarily halted due to script issues. Tharun Moorthy has officially refuted these claims, stating that the production is moving forward without any interruptions. Following his clarification, he posted an update on his Instagram Stories, showcasing his crew setting up lights, which indicated that filming was in progress. He captioned the image, “Athi Mano Haram Day 79.”
Earlier, the director had provided a detailed statement addressing the false reports. In his message, he confirmed that the team had been actively shooting in Thodupuzha for several days and that there had been no disruptions due to script confusion. He acknowledged that while weather conditions had posed minor challenges, the team remained dedicated and continued filming with resolve. He also urged fans to refrain from spreading unverified information that could lead to unnecessary confusion.
Overview of Athimanoharam
Athimanoharam marks Mohanlal’s 366th film and his second collaboration with director Tharun Moorthy, following their previous project, Thudarum. In April, the filmmakers chose the auspicious occasion of Vishu to unveil the official title of the film, which had previously been referred to as L366.
Along with the title reveal, the team also released an eye-catching first-look poster featuring Mohanlal in a police uniform, set against the backdrop of pilgrims heading to the Sabarimala Temple. This suggests that the film will include some devotional elements, highlighting Mohanlal’s captivating screen presence. The film portrays Mohanlal as Sub-Inspector TS Lovelajan and is categorized as a police drama. The cast also features Meera Jasmine in the lead female role. The technical team includes writer Ratheesh Ravi, music composer Jakes Bejoy, cinematographer Shaji Kumar, and editor Vivek Harshan. Tharun Moorthy, recognized for his notable films like Operation Java and Saudi Vellakka, is also working on another project titled Torpedo.
