Farman Haider Reflects on Eid al-Adha: A Personal Journey Amidst Fame
Farman Haider's Evolving Connection with Eid al-Adha
Farman Haider, celebrated for his role as Shivaay in the hit Zee TV show Jagadhatri, has received widespread acclaim for his acting skills. As Eid al-Adha approaches, he reflects on how the festival's meaning has transformed for him, especially in the context of his career in the entertainment sector. Despite a hectic filming schedule, Haider remains dedicated to the traditions that resonate deeply with him, highlighting the values of sacrifice and gratitude that parallel his journey as an actor.
In a candid conversation with Assistant Editor Aakash Kumar, Haider shared how Eid al-Adha has taken on a more personal significance since he became an actor. He noted that the festival's themes of sacrifice resonate with the personal sacrifices often required in his profession. "Eid al-Adha has evolved for me into something much more profound than mere celebration," he remarked. "As an actor, I relate to the concept of sacrifice on a deeply personal level." This realization serves as a reminder for him to stay humble and grateful for the opportunities he receives.
When reflecting on how his Eid celebrations have changed since gaining fame, Haider mentioned that while the essence of the festival remains intact, life has become busier. "In the past, it was all about being fully engaged with family—no distractions, just pure happiness. Now, due to shoots and obligations, I sometimes find myself celebrating Eid on set," he shared. Nevertheless, he makes an effort to celebrate the festival with warmth and appreciation, cherishing the simple moments that bring joy.
Haider also emphasized a beloved family tradition he upholds each Eid: beginning the day with prayers and sharing the first meal with his loved ones. "Regardless of how busy I am, I always strive to be present for that," he stated, underscoring the importance of staying connected to his roots. This year, however, Eid will hold a unique emotional significance for him, as several family members, including his mother, are currently on a pilgrimage for Hajj.
As he contemplates this year's celebrations, Haider expressed a blend of emotions. "This year is particularly special for me because my mother and many family members are performing Hajj," he disclosed. While he will miss their physical presence, he finds comfort in knowing they are on a sacred journey. "Of course, I’ll miss being with them in person, but there’s a profound sense of peace and gratitude knowing they are on such a holy path. In a way, it makes this Eid even more meaningful," he concluded.
