Reports indicate that Farhan Akhtar's production company, Excel Entertainment, approached the Producers Guild of India, claiming that Singh's sudden departure resulted in losses estimated at around Rs 40 crore. Conversely, Singh reportedly cited unprofessionalism and delays, asserting that Akhtar's other commitments hindered the film's progress.
In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Farhan Akhtar opted for a measured approach instead of directly addressing the ongoing controversy. Without mentioning Singh by name, he remarked, “What I've learned is to expect the unexpected. Nothing can be taken for granted until you actually have it on film. That’s really what it is.” Reflecting on his journey, Farhan shared, "From the moment I began - with Aamir Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta, Dimple Kapadia, Saif Ali Khan, and my partner Ritesh Sidhwani - it has been an incredible ride.” He acknowledged that while he has always collaborated with people he admires, challenges are an inevitable part of a showbiz career, stating, "You realize that at some point, there will be a period that's going to be a little bit more challenging." He emphasized the importance of taking these challenges in stride and continuing to work creatively.
