A Magical Journey in 'Rahu Ketu'

'Rahu Ketu' presents a unique premise for a Bollywood film, featuring a mystical notebook that brings written words to life. Directed and penned by Vipul Vig, the story follows a writer named Manu (played by Manu Rishi Chadha) who receives this enchanted notebook from his enigmatic uncle (Piyush Mishra), who claims to be a remnant of Emperor Alexander's entourage left behind in India.

In a rather uninspired twist, the writer introduces modern-day versions of the mythological figures Rahu and Ketu, portrayed by Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma. True to their legendary counterparts, these characters are harbingers of misfortune.

Upon arriving in a Himachal village, they face rejection from the locals. Their antics lead to the entrance of the local seductress, Meenu (Shalini Pandey), who, dressed provocatively while others are bundled up, entangles herself with Rahu and two comical police officers (Amit Sial, Sumit Gulati). In a bid to seize control of the drug trade overseen by the Israeli character Mordechai (Chunky Panday), she steals the magical notebook.

Despite Varun Sharma's commendable effort to embody the film's comedic spirit, and the cast's attempts to elevate the material, 'Rahu Ketu' remains only occasionally amusing. The stunning Himachal backdrop outshines the film's lackluster narrative. A sequel is reportedly in the works, so Bollywood fans should brace themselves!
