Unveiling Jaskirat Singh Rangi's Journey

In the gripping tale of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, Ranveer Singh portrays Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a convict sentenced to death after a violent confrontation with Akshaye Khanna’s character, Rehman Dakait. Jaskirat's backstory reveals that he was once training to join the Indian army before becoming entangled with a gang in Lyari, Pakistan. The film delves into his past, particularly in the first chapter titled A Burnt Memory, where director Aditya Dhar narrates the life-altering events following a traumatic incident involving lynching and sexual assault. Facing a life sentence for the murder of an MLA's family, Jaskirat entrusts his childhood friend with the safety of his mother and sister, Jasleen.

Inspiration Behind Dhurandhar 2's Characters

Dhurandhar 2's Pinda is Inspired by Gangster Rinda

Aditya Dhar, known for his attention to detail, has crafted characters in Dhurandhar and its sequel based on real-life figures, albeit with some creative modifications. Jaskirat's friend from Punjab is reportedly inspired by Harwinder Singh Sandhu, also known as Rinda.

The Real Story of Pinda

Rinda, originally from Punjab, was labeled a terrorist by the Central Government due to his alleged involvement in terrorism. He hailed from Sarhali village in Tarn Taran district and spent years in Lahore, Pakistan, allegedly under the influence of cross-border agencies. He was reportedly associated with Babbar Khalsa International, a designated terrorist organization, and had connections with various terrorist groups in Pakistan. His criminal history includes serious offenses such as murder and extortion across multiple Indian states. In 2022, he was reported dead from a suspected drug overdose.

In Dhurandhar 2, Gurbaaz Singh, known as Pinda, reunites with Jaskirat, now called Hamza, after many years. During a gathering attended by Pakistani politicians, Pinda recognizes his childhood friend and brother-in-law. A confrontation ensues, leading to a physical altercation in a bathroom where Pinda administers drugs. The fight culminates in Pinda's death, which is attributed to a drug overdose.

Udaybir Sandhu takes on the role of Gurbaaz Singh, or Pinda, in Dhurandhar 2. Prior to this spy thriller, he appeared in films like Amar Singh Chamkila and Gold.
