The Real Story Behind Uzair Baloch

What is Uzair Baloch's real story?

Uzair Baloch was notorious in Karachi as one of the most feared gangsters. His father, Faiz Muhammad, a transporter from Sistan and Baluchestan, was murdered by Arshad Pappu, the son of a prominent drug lord. This tragedy ignited Uzair's quest for vengeance, leading him to ally with his cousin, the infamous gangster Rehman Baloch. Following Rehman’s demise, Uzair took over the gang's leadership. The sequel, Dhurandhar 2, depicts how Uzair's gang kidnapped and executed Arshad Pappu and his brother, Yasir Arafat, with gruesome details of their fate. Uzair's influence extended significantly in Lyari, especially during the elections that followed Arshad's death.

Uzair Baloch's arrest

In 2011, the Pakistani government disbanded the People's Aman Committee under anti-terrorism laws to diminish Uzair's power in Lyari. Amidst political conflicts, he was implicated in numerous crimes, facing over 50 charges of extortion and linked to multiple murders during the gang wars. He was arrested by the Rangers on January 30, 2016, and later transferred to the Pakistan Army due to espionage allegations. After three years, he was returned to police custody on April 6, 2020.

Controversies Surrounding Uzair Baloch

Is Uzair Baloch an Indian spy?

Recently, Uzair was acquitted in a 2012 arms case due to insufficient evidence, yet he remains incarcerated. In Dhurandhar 2, a subplot involves Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari, who allegedly orchestrated a plan for Uzair's escape from Pakistan. However, credible sources indicate that there is no substantial evidence linking Uzair to espionage activities for India.
