Originally titled 'Battle of Galwan', the film has been renamed to 'Matrubhumi'. It is inspired by real events, particularly the significant clash between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley on June 15, 2020, which resulted in the martyrdom of twenty Indian soldiers.
