She also mentioned that Robert Schwartzman, who portrayed Mia's first love Michael Moscovitz, alongside Chris Pine, who played Nicholas Devereaux in the sequel, will be back with Hathaway. Cabot stated, "There is a part for everybody. There's a thing that happens that everybody has to show up." While Hathaway's return is confirmed, Julie Andrews, who plays Mia's grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi, has yet to be officially announced for the film. Additionally, Mandy Moore and Heather Matarazzo, both of whom have been part of the franchise, are anticipated to return.
