Plot Details and Production Team
The statement elaborated: “Five years have elapsed since the fall of Eregion. Sauron’s forces have swept across the globe, conquering everything in their path. Only a few isolated strongholds remain between the Dark Lord and complete victory – Khazad-dûm, where the Dwarves are now entrenched deep within their mountain halls, and the elven realms of Lindon and Rivendell, safeguarded by their Three Rings.”
“In the heart of Mordor, within his newly constructed tower of Barad-dûr, the Dark Lord works tirelessly, fixated on acquiring a power that will subdue his last adversaries: One Ring to rule them all... The free peoples of Middle-earth – Dwarves, Elves, Men, and Wizards – must unite in a desperate race against time to thwart Sauron’s ambition of total domination.”
The third season is helmed by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, alongside executive producers Lindsey Weber, Kate Hazell, Justin Doble, and director-executive producer Charlotte Brändström. Matthew Penry-Davey serves as producer, with Ally O’Leary Cantrell, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee as co-producers.
This grand saga unfolds thousands of years prior to the events depicted in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, following a diverse cast of characters, both known and new, as they face the resurgence of evil in Middle-earth.
