Fans of the hockey romance series Heated Rivalry can rejoice as Season 2 is confirmed for release in India. The show, featuring Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, will return on Lionsgate Play. The inaugural season debuted on February 20, 2026, but since filming for the new season has not yet commenced, viewers will have to wait until 2027. This popular series is adapted from the novels by Rachel Reid, and both Reid and creator Jacob Tierney have recently shared some hints about what to expect in the upcoming season.

Heated Rivalry Season 2 on Lionsgate Play
A report from a leading entertainment outlet has confirmed that the second season of Heated Rivalry will be available in India in 2027. Jacob Tierney will reprise his role as writer and director for this season. During BookCon 2026 in New York City, Tierney, alongside author Reid, disclosed that the new season will draw inspiration from her 2022 book The Long Game, while also incorporating elements from the 2021 novel Role Model. Michael Goldbach will join Tierney as a co-writer for this season.
Returning Characters and New Additions
Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams will return as Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander, respectively, but fans can also look forward to new characters. The series will introduce Troy Barrett, a hockey player from the Ottawa Centaurs, and Harris Drover, the team's social media manager. The casting for these roles is still pending. Both novels are set a decade after the events of Heated Rivalry, and the storyline may extend into future seasons. As Shane and Ilya navigate their relationship, Tierney hinted at a significant conflict between the couple, which he described as one of his favorite moments from the narrative.

Starting September 2026, Lionsgate is set to release approximately 10-12 films in theaters before they become available on OTT platforms. Anticipated titles include Russell Crowe’s Billion Dollar Spy, Gerard Butler’s Empire City, Robert Pattinson’s Primetime, Mark Wahlberg’s By Any Means, and Titan.
Additionally, other films set to release this year on OTT include Greenland 2: Migration, Mutiny; Couture featuring Angelina Jolie, Zac Efron's Famous, and The Rivals of Amziah King. The third season of Vigil and Apollo Has Fallen will also make a return.
