Korean Stars Unite in New Projects
Two popular Korean actors, Lee Jong-Suk and Lee Jun-Hyuk, are gearing up to star in distinct projects that are intriguingly linked. In a unique casting decision, both will feature in new K-dramas that exist within the same fictional realm. Fans are buzzing with excitement over how these two actors, known for their different acting styles, will portray their roles in these office romance dramas. On February 23, ACE FACTORY announced that Lee Jong-Suk will headline Iseop's Romance, while Lee Jun-Hyuk will take the lead in A Casual Lie, both of which are working titles. The connection lies in the fact that both dramas are adaptations of popular web novels by author Kim Eon-Hee.
Connecting Threads Between the K-Dramas
ACE FACTORY's announcement stated, "Lee Jong Suk will be starring in Iseop’s Romance, and Lee Jun Hyuk will be playing the lead in A Casual Lie." Although the web novels tell different stories with unique protagonists, they are set in the same universe, suggesting that the upcoming adaptations will also share connections.
Overview of Iseop's Romance and A Casual Lie
According to Korean media, Iseop's Romance revolves around Tae I Seop, a chaebol heir who excels in every aspect of life except love. He crosses paths with Kang Min Kyeong, a skilled 'secret weapon' at TK Group, leading to a romantic journey. Meanwhile, A Casual Lie tells the story of Tae Jun-Seop, the grandson of TK Group's chairman, and copywriter Yeon Woo-Kyung, who unexpectedly enters his life, igniting a romance amidst a succession battle within the company. Notably, the two male leads, Tae I Seop and Tae Jun-Seop, are cousins!
Both Iseop's Romance and A Casual Lie are set to commence filming this year and will be produced simultaneously due to their intertwined narratives. Fans are eager to see if the actors will make cameo appearances in each other's dramas as their respective characters, who are chaebol cousins.
