Hyderabad, March 5: The creators of the eagerly awaited mythological thriller 'Vrushakarma', directed by Karthik Dandu and starring Naga Chaitanya, have unveiled a captivating and eerie glimpse video. This sneak peek suggests that the film will transcend a mere treasure hunt narrative, delving into themes of dark powers and mythological intrigue.
Sharing the glimpse on their social media platforms, the production company Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra (SVCC) stated, "A mythical thriller like never before. Enter the world of #Vrushakarma. #VrushakarmaGlimpse OUT NOW. Yuvasamrat @chay_akkineni in @karthikdandu86's vision."
The video begins with a man under the influence of a sinister force, sketching a portrait of a figure with a gouged eye. As he completes the drawing, he grimaces in agony, and a bat-like creature emerges from his mouth, subsequently killing a man in the same manner depicted in the portrait.
A voiceover ominously states, "When an unparalleled power awakens... when the creation deviates from its purpose... destiny will choose its own course." The video also offers brief glimpses of characters played by Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Naga Chaitanya.
It has been revealed that Meenakshi Chaudhary portrays a character named Daksha, while Jayaram takes on the role of Professor Ranganath.
The glimpse video reinforces Naga Chaitanya's earlier assertions about the film. In a prior interview, he expressed his excitement about collaborating with Karthik, known for the horror thriller 'Virupaksha', stating that this project would be a mythological thriller.
"This will be a very heavy VFX-based cinema, and I am thrilled about this project," Naga Chaitanya remarked, noting that he has not participated in a film of this scale throughout his 15-year career.
He had previously mentioned that the film would encompass elements of adventure and treasure hunting.
Notably, the film's title was revealed on Naga Chaitanya's birthday last year, along with the first look poster showcasing him in a fierce and rugged persona, highlighting his muscular build and intense expression.
On Instagram, Naga Chaitanya shared the first look poster with the caption, "#vrushakarma it is for #nc24 (sic)."
The film, directed by Karthik Dandu, is being produced on a grand scale by BVSN Prasad and Sukumar under the banners of Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra LLP (SVCC) and Sukumar Writings. It features a talented technical team, with the story crafted by Sukumar, cinematography by Neil D Cunha, music by Ajaneesh Loknath, and editing by National Award winner Navin Nooli. The art direction is handled by Sri Nagendra Tangala, who previously collaborated with Naga Chaitanya on 'Thandel'.
