Continuing a cherished tradition, the renowned Shri Brijraj Swami Temple in Nurpur is gearing up for its spectacular Holi celebrations, as announced by Gaurav Mahajan, the President of the Raja Sahib Dussehra and Ramlila Club, in a recent press release.
Mahajan revealed that the festivities will unfold over two days: Flower Holi on March 2 and Color Holi on March 4. The first day will feature a performance by singer Tinu Singh, while the second day will see Voice of Punjab champion Gaurav Kaundal captivating attendees with his enchanting melodies.
In recent years, the temple's Holi festival has evolved into a significant cultural event, drawing not only local residents but also visitors from nearby regions. Mahajan, who is the son of the late Rakesh Mahajan—recognized for enhancing the identity of Nurpur’s Dussehra and Janmashtami festivals—has played a crucial role in elevating the Holi Mahotsav to similar heights.
He encouraged the community to engage fully in the celebrations, highlighting that Nurpur Bazaar will be closed on March 4 for the occasion. “Holi is a festival that dissolves barriers of animosity and fosters unity among people from diverse backgrounds. On this day, even adversaries come together,” Mahajan stated.
This two-day celebration is set to reflect the richness of Hindu culture, camaraderie, and togetherness, making it one of the most awaited events in the region.
