Who are the new actors in Rajinikanth's Jailer 2?
The sequel, Jailer 2, features a number of prominent Malayalam actors. The teaser gives a sneak peek of Suraj Venjaramoodu, who is anticipated to portray a significant antagonist. This acclaimed actor has been making waves in Tamil cinema with his performances in films like Kara and Youth.
Other Malayalam talents joining the cast include Anna Reshma Rajan, known for Angamaly Diaries, impressionist Kottayam Nazeer, Sujith Shankar, recognized for his roles in Ajith Kumar's Nerkonda Paarvai and Suriya's Retro, Hakim Shajahan from Pranaya Vilasam, and Vineeth Thattil David, who recently appeared in Prince and Family.
The film was shot in various picturesque locations across Kerala, including Palakkad, Sholayoor, Gonjiyoor, and Anaikatti.

Jatin Sarna, known for his role in Sacred Games, is also set to play one of the film's antagonists. Additionally, Vijay Sethupathi has confirmed a special appearance in the film. Bagavathi Perumal (Bucks) is also part of the ensemble. There are rumors that Hrithik Roshan and Vidya Balan might also join the cast, although this has yet to be officially confirmed by the filmmakers.
Returning from the first installment are Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Mirnaa Menon, Yogi Babu, and Jaffer Sadiq. Anirudh Ravichander is back to compose the music for Jailer 2, marking his sixth collaboration with Rajinikanth and fifth with Nelson Dilipkumar. The technical team includes cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, editor R. Nirmal, art director DRK Kiran, and stunt choreographer Chethan D'Souza. Jailer 2 was officially announced in January 2025, with production starting two months later. After nearly a year of filming, the shoot concluded in April.
