The Game of Thrones Franchise Continues to Grow

Expanding the Game of Thrones Universe

The reunion of the original cast coincides with a thriving period for the Game of Thrones franchise. Since the flagship series concluded, the universe has expanded with spin-offs like House of the Dragon, which delves into the history of House Targaryen, and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, inspired by George R. R. Martin’s novellas, keeping the franchise alive and well.

Looking to the future, the franchise is also preparing for a cinematic venture. A feature film titled Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest is currently in the works, directed by Owen Harris, with a planned theatrical release on June 1, 2029.
