This title, which clinched the Game of the Year award in 2022, is being adapted into a film by Alex Garland, known for his work on Civil War. The project is a collaboration between Bandai Namco Entertainment and A24, with filming currently underway in the UK. Recently, key details about this live-action adaptation have been disclosed, including that it is being shot in IMAX format. The film stars Kit Connor and Ben Whishaw in leading roles.

As reported by Deadline, Garland has been an avid fan of Elden Ring for years. He even traveled to Japan to meet with the game's creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki, to discuss the adaptation. The film's production team includes Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich from DNA, and original game writer George RR Martin along with Vince Gerardis. Although some set images leaked earlier this month, the official announcement was made on April 20.
