Dharma Productions' upcoming film, Dostana 2, has seen numerous casting shifts over the years. The trend of changes appears to be ongoing. Initially, the film featured Lakshya, Kartik Aaryan, and Janhvi Kapoor in leading roles.

However, reports emerged that the project was put on hold due to disagreements between Kartik and the production team. In 2025, Vikrant Massey was introduced as a new addition to the cast, while Lakshya remained involved. The latest buzz revolves around the female lead for the film.

Priyanka Chopra's Legacy
In the original Dostana, Priyanka Chopra played a significant role. Recent updates from Variety India suggest that Sini Shetty, a former Miss India, is in line to take on the lead role, marking her acting debut. She was crowned Femina Miss India World in 2022, and the report indicates that the filmmakers considered three actresses before selecting Shetty.

Interestingly, Priyanka Chopra, who starred in the first installment of "Dostana," is also a former Miss World. Initially, it was reported that Pratibha Ranta, known for her role in "Missing Ladies," would be the lead, but it seems she has now been replaced by Sini Shetty.
