He discussed Azmi's role as his onscreen mother, Maharani Jinda, recalling their first scene together in a castle during a dinner setting. He noted, "Her character had just arrived from India and spoke Punjabi, while I communicated in English." Reflecting on a touching compliment from Azmi, he said, "She requested the cameraman to capture a close-up of my eyes during her scenes. That remains one of the most beautiful compliments I've ever received, and I always thank her when I visit her." Kumar agreed, noting Sartaaj's expressive eyes.

Additionally, Sartaaj expressed his admiration for Javed Akhtar, who published his Urdu poetry collection in Mumbai, stating, "Their influence in my life is profound and beautiful."
