All About Satluj Row
'Satluj' is inspired by the life of human rights advocate Jaswant Singh Khalra. The film encountered numerous obstacles prior to its release, including multiple title changes and clearance challenges. Initially titled 'Ghallughara', a reference to historical Sikh tragedies, it was later renamed 'Punjab 95' during the certification process with the Central Board of Film Certification. Reports indicate that the film was finally approved after 21 cuts were made and the title was altered once more, leading to its eventual release as 'Satluj'.
During an Instagram live session on Monday, Diljit addressed the film's removal, expressing gratitude to fans for their support. He noted that once content is shared online, it tends to remain accessible in some form. He encouraged those who had viewed or downloaded the film to share it with others who had not yet seen it. Diljit remarked, “What I feared actually happened. I thought the film would be taken down by Monday when the offices would be opened, but I had no idea that it would be banned on Sunday only. But I was sure that it would be banned. That's why we didn't promote the film. It was best to release the film (online) without any promotion.”
'Satluj' is directed by Honey Trehan and produced by RSVP and MacGuffin Pictures, featuring a cast that includes Arjun Rampal, Kanwaljit Singh, Suvinder Vicky, and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan in significant roles.
