Diljit Dosanjh Responds to 'Satluj' Controversy
Mumbai: Shortly after the film Satluj was taken down from ZEE5 in India, Diljit Dosanjh took to Instagram with a post that seemed to allude to both the film and the legacy of human rights advocate Jaswant Singh Khalra.
In his post, Diljit shared a clip from the movie, stating, “#ichallengethedarkness Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra Ji #Panjab95 SATLUJ naal v oh hee hoyea jo Khalra Saab naal hoyeac,” which translates to, “What happened to Satluj also occurred to Shaheed Jaswant Singh Khalra.”

This post followed ZEE5's announcement regarding the unavailability of Satluj in India, which premiered on July 3. The streaming service expressed gratitude for the audience's support and reiterated its commitment to the film's creative vision. They also mentioned their intention to pursue all necessary legal options to make the film accessible to Indian viewers as soon as possible.
Satluj is inspired by the life of Jaswant Singh Khalra, a human rights activist from Punjab who brought to light alleged unlawful killings and covert cremations during the turbulent years of militancy in the region. The film features notable actors such as Kanwaljeet Singh, Arjun Rampal, and Suvinder Vicky in significant roles.
