Following a remarkable global box office performance of Rs 1600 crore, the film continues to perform well, albeit with a gradual decline in ticket sales. It is set to be available on JioHotstar. Typically, films transition to OTT platforms about two months post their theatrical debut, but Dhurandhar 2 may experience a delay due to its ongoing box office success. Reports indicate that JioHotstar has not yet finalized a streaming schedule, largely due to the ongoing IPL 2026.
Update on Dhurandhar 2's OTT Release
According to a report from Filmibeat, the streaming timeline for Dhurandhar 2 on JioHotstar has been impacted by the high viewership of IPL 2026. The tournament is expected to conclude on May 31 after 74 matches. Initially, the film was anticipated to release sooner, but it is now projected to premiere on the OTT platform by late May or early June.
Dhurandhar on Netflix
The first installment of Dhurandhar was released on December 5, 2025, with a post-theatrical streaming deal secured with Netflix. It became available on January 30. Unfortunately, the espionage drama was banned in several Gulf countries due to its content. However, Netflix later provided access to audiences in the UAE, allowing them to stream the film in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
Shortly after Dhurandhar was made available on Netflix, some viewers expressed dissatisfaction, alleging that the film had been censored for its OTT release. However, it was clarified that the original version was preserved, and the theatrical cut was the same as the one available for streaming.
Post-Theatrical Rights for Dhurandhar 2
Reports suggest that Netflix secured a post-theatrical streaming agreement for Rs 85 crore, which included the first part of the film. Following its theatrical run, Dhurandhar 2 will be available on JioHotstar, with the deal reportedly valued at Rs 150 crore.
