CBFC Modifications for Dhurandhar 2
Changes In Dhurandhar 2 After CBFC’s Approval
As reported by a media outlet, the CBFC granted Dhurandhar: The Revenge an 'A' rating. The Examining Committee requested 21 edits and modifications to the film. This included muting certain profanities and substituting some words, although no specific list of these words was provided. In two instances, a word was muted, and a character's name was replaced with a fictional one. Regarding visual content, four violent scenes were cut, including a two-second reduction of a hammer strike to the head, a four-second trim of a head being hit with cement blocks, and the removal of a four-second shot of an eye being smashed. Additionally, a 24-second sequence depicting beheading and kicking was also edited out.
Additional Changes and Disclaimers
The committee also requested corrections to a couple of scenes, including one related to a historical event (only in subtitles) and another concerning the city name featured in Dhurandhar 2. Furthermore, the filmmakers were instructed to include a disclaimer regarding drug use and a warning stating, 'This film contains disturbing content; viewer discretion is advised.' The chapter titles will also be presented in Hindi. The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) certificate was submitted for scenes involving animals. Ultimately, the official permission letter for using references to the Prime Minister and news footage was also provided to the CBFC. Following these recommendations, the filmmakers removed 1 minute and 34 seconds of footage, resulting in a final runtime of 3 hours, 49 minutes, and 6 seconds, which is only 15 minutes longer than the original Dhurandhar.
