Dhurandhar 2: Anticipation Builds for Record-Breaking Hindi Film
Dhurandhar 2 Generates Unprecedented Buzz
The upcoming film Dhurandhar 2, featuring Ranveer Singh, has completely overturned expectations even before its premiere. Anticipation for this Aditya Dhar-directed movie has reached extraordinary levels, particularly in terms of advance ticket sales. Audiences are showing remarkable enthusiasm for Dhurandhar 2, prompting theaters nationwide to maximize their show schedules for the film, which has a runtime of 3 hours and 55 minutes. Notably, even the iconic Maratha Mandir in Mumbai has adjusted its schedule for the classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge to accommodate this new release.
DDLJ Adjusts for Dhurandhar 2 at Maratha Mandir
Numerous theaters are already organizing late-night and even post-midnight screenings ahead of Dhurandhar 2's release, a rare occurrence in the industry. This film is set to be the first Hindi feature to offer such early morning and overnight screenings in advance. At Maratha Mandir, the showtimes for Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge have been modified, with the film now scheduled to screen at 10:00 am starting March 18, as reported by Bollywood Hungama. This adjustment is necessary due to the lengthy runtime of Dhurandhar 2.
The showtimes for Dhurandhar 2 at this theater are set for 1:15 pm, 5:30 pm, and 9:45 pm. Similar adjustments were made when the first installment was released, and other lengthy films like Pushpa 2 and Animal have also led to schedule changes. However, this marks the first time in many years that DDLJ will be screened at 10 am at Maratha Mandir.
Dhurandhar 2 Aiming for Record-Breaking Opening
Currently, Dhurandhar 2 is on track to break several significant box office records. Based on advance booking figures for its opening day, the film appears poised to surpass Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan as the highest-grossing Hindi film on its first day, both at the Hindi box office and across India. Jawan previously earned Rs 65.50 crore on its opening day in Hindi and Rs 75 crore overall in India.
So far, Dhurandhar 2 has achieved an impressive Rs 30.31 crore in pre-sales throughout India. To claim the title of the highest opening Hindi film at the Hindi box office, it needs approximately Rs 35 crore, and around Rs 45 crore more to become the largest Hindi opener in India. Currently, the records for the biggest opener in Hindi and across India are held by Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2, which garnered Rs 72 crore on its first day in Hindi and Rs 164.25 crore nationwide. It remains to be seen if Dhurandhar 2 will rise to the challenge against Pushpa 2.
