Dhanush and Nagarjuna's 'Kuberaa' Faces Cuts Before Release

The upcoming film 'Kuberaa', directed by Sekhar Kammula and featuring Dhanush and Nagarjuna in lead roles, is set to release soon. However, prior to its theatrical debut, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) mandated the removal of 19 scenes from the movie.
Duration Changes
Initially, the filmmakers submitted a version of the film that ran for 195 minutes, which received certification from the board. They later opted to shorten the film to 181 minutes, reducing its length by over 14 minutes. The production team explained that they had planned for this edit in advance to avoid last-minute pressures.
Increased Anticipation Among Fans
The removal of nearly 14 minutes has sparked curiosity among fans about the content that was cut and its effect on the storyline. This alteration has only heightened the excitement surrounding the film.
Strong Advance Ticket Sales
Reports indicate that advance ticket sales for 'Kuberaa' are promising, with over 2,000 tickets sold, generating approximately $36,200 before the film's official release.
Dhanush's Insights on His Role
Reflecting on his experience while filming, Dhanush shared, “I was told I would be standing in the sun and needed to do extensive research, but that was exaggerated. I simply followed my director, who was exceptional. He made the process seamless for me. This role is quite different from my previous ones, and I embraced the challenge.” He added, “Shooting for this film was a remarkable experience, as we filmed in dumpyards and garbage trucks. Every moment taught me something valuable. 'Kuberaa' holds a special place in my heart.”
