Deonna Purrazzo Shares Life-Altering Experience with Edibles
Deonna Purrazzo's Absence from AEW and Personal Struggles

Deonna Purrazzo has been noticeably absent from All Elite Wrestling (AEW) broadcasts, primarily due to creative challenges. Recently, she expressed her dissatisfaction with this situation. Despite her absence from AEW, she remains active in the independent wrestling circuit, engages in community service, and shares her life experiences through interviews.
In a recent episode of the Digital Social Hour podcast, Purrazzo recounted a pivotal moment that changed her perspective on marijuana after consuming what she believed to be a harmless edible. This traumatic experience led her to confront dark thoughts and ultimately decide to avoid cannabis altogether.
Describing the incident, Purrazzo revealed that it happened nearly three years ago when she intended to enjoy a relaxing evening but instead faced a terrifying ordeal. She recalled, “Maybe almost three years ago, I took 10 milligrams of an edible and I was laying on the couch and all of a sudden like I got head to toe like tingly, almost like, ‘Oh my God, I’m paralyzed’ feeling. And my husband’s best friend was sitting on our couch with us and I was like, ‘I don’t feel good.”
A Disturbing Experience with Edibles
During this distressing episode, Purrazzo's husband, Steve McLin, was present and attempted to soothe her, but her condition worsened as she expressed a desire to vomit to feel better. McLin had to explain that such substances do not work that way.
Things took a darker turn when Purrazzo experienced suicidal thoughts while under the influence. Despite being responsible gun owners, she imagined a scenario where she would take her own life, saying, “My husband’s prior military, we are proud gun owners, we were like… I literally thought like, ‘Well, if I died, how did I die? I must have committed suicide.’ And I was like, ‘I went in our safe and I took the gun and I committed suicide.’”
This incident marked the last time Purrazzo would consider using cannabis or edibles. She emphasized that mental health can take unexpected turns, leading to overwhelming situations that can arise from what was intended to be a relaxing experience.
