Delhi Metro Extends Services for Diljit Dosanjh's Concert: What You Need to Know
Special Metro Arrangements for Concert Attendees
New Delhi: In preparation for the "Aura India Tour 2026" concert featuring Diljit Dosanjh at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced an extension of its train services until midnight on that Friday, according to an official statement.
The DMRC has implemented special operational measures, extending train services across all lines, with the exception of the Airport Express Line and Rapid Metro in Gurugram, as stated by Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communication.
On the concert day, Metro services will run until midnight on all lines (excluding the Airport Express Line), accommodating an expected crowd of over 70,000 attendees.
To ensure a smooth exit for concert-goers, additional train trips will be scheduled throughout the network, and standby trains will be on standby to manage any unexpected increases in passenger numbers.
Moreover, the QR ticket purchasing window on the DMRC mobile app (Delhi Metro Sarthi) will be extended by one hour to align with the new service hours.
To facilitate efficient entry and exit for attendees, the DMRC has arranged for extra personnel at JLN Stadium Metro Station and other key interchange stations. Additional staff, customer service representatives, and Customer Facilitation Agents (CFAs) will be present to assist commuters and manage passenger flow.
In terms of safety, more security personnel will be stationed at JLN Stadium Metro Station, with Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs) and enhanced security screening measures implemented to ensure orderly movement while adhering to security protocols.
With an anticipated turnout of around 70,000 spectators, many are expected to utilize the Delhi Metro for their travel to and from the concert venue. The nearest Metro station is JLN Stadium on the Violet Line (Kashmere Gate – Raja Nahar Singh corridor).
The DMRC encourages concert attendees to opt for Metro services for a convenient, safe, and eco-friendly travel experience, reducing reliance on private vehicles.
Earlier, the Delhi Traffic Police outlined specific vehicular diversions and recommended routes, urging commuters to use public transport, especially the Delhi Metro.
In a post on 'X', the Delhi Traffic Police stated: "Due to the Live Music Concert by Diljit Dosanjh at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on 30.10.2026, traffic restrictions and diversions may be enforced from 1:00 PM to 12:00 Midnight."
"Commuters are advised to plan their trips accordingly, avoid affected roads near JLN Stadium, and utilize public transport (Delhi Metro is recommended)," they added.
