The film Dacoit, featuring Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur, and Anurag Kashyap, has shown remarkable performance at the box office since its global release on April 10. Co-written by Sesh, this gangster drama generated considerable pre-release excitement, which has now translated into impressive box office figures. As of its fifth day in theaters, Dacoit has climbed to the seventh spot on the USA box office chart, maintaining a position in the top 10 through Tuesday. Notably, the Hindi version of the film has experienced a significant boost in audience turnout, with a 15% increase in box office earnings compared to the previous day. This upward trajectory suggests a growing interest among viewers for Dacoit.

Adivi Sesh's Response to Box Office Success

With Dacoit surpassing the Rs 40 crore milestone globally, Adivi Sesh expressed his gratitude for the film's increasing box office success. He noted that it is heartening to witness audiences connecting with the film, not only in India but also in the United States. He remarked, “For a film like ours, securing a place in the top 10 at the USA box office on its fifth day is incredibly special, highlighting the types of stories that resonate with viewers today.”

Following a 15% increase in domestic box office revenue, Sesh attributed this success to positive word-of-mouth and audience trust. He stated, “This reflects the genuine connection viewers have with the story and characters. As filmmakers, we aspire for our film to grow in popularity with each passing day.”

Plot Overview of Dacoit

The narrative of Dacoit revolves around the characters Hari (played by Sesh) and Saraswati (portrayed by Mrunal Thakur). Despite belonging to different castes, their love knows no boundaries. A tragic event leads to their separation, with Saraswati wrongfully imprisoning Hari for a crime he did not commit. Upon his return, Hari's goal is to escape the country while seeking revenge. Meanwhile, Saraswati, now married and a mother, desperately needs funds for her husband's heart surgery. Upon learning this, Hari decides to confront her for her betrayal, leading to a dramatic revelation.

Produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Suniel Narang, Dacoit is presented by Annapurna Studios. The film was shot in both Hindi and Telugu, with the story and screenplay crafted collaboratively by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo, who is making his directorial debut.
