The 1983 Bollywood film ‘Jaaney Bhi Do Yaaro’ continues to be cherished by audiences today. Featuring stars like Naseeruddin Shah, Ravi Baswani, Satish Kaushik, and Satish Shah in pivotal roles, the film is notable for its outstanding performances. At the time, these actors were struggling, and no one anticipated that this film, made on a budget of just 6.84 lakhs, would achieve such acclaim. Interestingly, it was funded not by producers but by a government organization.

The cast received minimal payment for their roles, with Naseeruddin Shah earning the highest at 15,000 rupees, while others received between 3,000 to 5,000 rupees. This film delivers a strong critique of government corruption.

Swades

Another Bollywood film that captured the hearts of viewers is ‘Swades’. Although it did not perform well at the box office, its story resonated deeply with audiences. This film, released in 2004, starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, alongside Gayatri Joshi, Rajesh Vivek, Dayashankar Pandey, and Farukh Jafar. Lakshya

The Bollywood film “Lakshya,” released in 2004, is regarded as a cult classic. Directed by Farhan Akhtar and written by Javed Akhtar, with production by Ritesh Sidhwani, the film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, and Preity Zinta. It tells the story of a young man who joins the Indian Army and grows to become a war hero. Although it did not achieve box office success initially, it later gained recognition as a cult classic.
