Cristo Fernandez's Professional Soccer Debut

Actor Cristo Fernandez, celebrated for his role in the acclaimed series "Ted Lasso," has officially launched his professional soccer career. He made his debut with El Paso Locomotive FC during a match against New Mexico United on Saturday, which was part of the United Soccer League Cup. Unfortunately, the Texas team faced a 2-0 loss. Fernandez, who joined the team in May after a successful trial period, came on as a substitute for Rubio Rubin in the 79th minute.

Fernandez's return to professional soccer is particularly remarkable, having previously played for Tecos FC at the youth level before an injury interrupted his journey. Despite his acting career, his love for soccer has never waned. In a recent interview, he expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the chance to play at a professional level, stating, "Football has always been a significant part of my life and identity, and the dream of competing professionally has always remained in my heart, regardless of where life has taken me."

In his remarks, Fernandez highlighted the significance of self-confidence and the courage to take risks in the pursuit of dreams. He noted, "This journey back to professional soccer is about believing in yourself, taking risks, and relentlessly chasing your dreams, no matter how unpredictable the path may be." His excitement for his new team, affectionately known as the "Locos," underscores his commitment to this new chapter.

As he begins his inaugural season with El Paso Locomotive FC, fans are also eager to see what lies ahead for him in acting. He is set to return as the upbeat striker DRojas in the upcoming fourth season of "Ted Lasso," which is scheduled to premiere on August 5. While the new season will center around a women's team, it is expected that Fernandez and some of his fellow cast members will make guest appearances.

With his dual pursuits in soccer and acting, Cristo Fernandez is on track to motivate many as he balances the challenges and successes of both arenas. His commitment to soccer, paired with his entertainment experience, presents a unique combination of talent and passion that resonates with fans from both worlds.
