Sustainability Initiative at Vikram Batra College

The Standards Club at Shaheed Captain Vikram Batra Government College in Palampur, in partnership with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), hosted a poster-making competition themed “Fostering a Sustainable World” on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Under the mentorship of Prof. Manisha Sharma, the event featured Mr. Karamveer Singh from BIS, who engaged with students and highlighted the significance of standardization in advancing sustainable practices.
Prof. Pankaj Sood, the college principal, praised the students for their creativity and urged them to leverage their artistic talents for environmental advocacy.
“Such initiatives empower youth to become ambassadors of sustainable living,” he remarked.
A total of 25 students participated, presenting posters that conveyed innovative concepts and impactful messages regarding eco-friendly lifestyles.
The judging panel, consisting of Dr. Ajay Thakur and Dr. Anupama Dogra, commended the originality and relevance of the submissions.
Faculty members, including Prof. Kalpana Rishi, Dr. Anita, Dr. Bovinder Katoch, Dr. Anuradha, Dr. Meenakshi Thakur, Prof. Vipin, and Prof. Aditya Ojha, along with club members Dr. Kamlesh Rana and Prof. Atul, acknowledged the students’ dedication and involvement.
This competition not only celebrated artistic expression but also reinforced the vital role of youth in fostering a sustainable future.
