Controversy Surrounds 'Kala Hiran' Amid Legal Threats and Fan Backlash
Legal Challenges for 'Kala Hiran'
The courtroom thriller Kala Hiran: The Battle For Legacy, inspired by Salman Khan’s notorious 1998 blackbuck poaching incident, is currently facing significant legal hurdles. Shortly after its announcement, Salman Khan's team reportedly sent a notice to the film's producers, demanding the removal of all promotional materials and halting production. The notice highlighted potential damage to Salman’s personal rights, as the blackbuck case remains unresolved in the Rajasthan High Court. Producer Amit Jani previously responded to the notice, claiming it was unintentional, and has now publicly torn it apart.
Threats and Intimidation
36 Hours, 1,000 Messages and a Death Threat From D Company
Amit Jani has shared his experience regarding the backlash. In a viral video, he disclosed that within just 36 hours of announcing Kala Hiran, he received over 1,000 abusive messages, including threats of violence if he returned to Mumbai. Jani traced these threats back to Salman Khan's fanbase in areas such as Dharavi, Dongri, and Jogeshwari.
The situation escalated when Jani received a message purportedly from D Company, threatening to harm his family. While he could not confirm the authenticity of the message, he suggested it was part of Salman Khan’s 'toolkit'. Previously, Jani had shared the legal notice on his Facebook, which was addressed to the film's casting director, Akshay Pandey.
Defiance Against Threats
"Send whoever you want to send"
In a bold move, Jani displayed the legal notice on camera and tore it apart, addressing the media and his peers. He expressed frustration over the threats he has been receiving and concluded with a defiant statement: “I have given you your answer. Now we will deal with D Company. Send whoever you want to send.” The film aims to portray both the courtroom drama surrounding the blackbuck case and the ongoing rivalry between Salman Khan and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The teaser for the film is scheduled to be released on June 20, 2026. As of now, Salman Khan has not made any public comments regarding the situation.
