Controversy Surrounds Dhurandhar 2 Over Smoking Scene
Dhurandhar 2 Faces Backlash
The production team behind Dhurandhar 2 has recently encountered controversy. A complaint was lodged by a Sikh organization against the film's creators, claiming that a promotional image depicted Ranveer Singh smoking a cigarette while donning a turban. In response to this issue, director Aditya Dhar has issued a clarification. He stated that the image in question is AI-generated and accused those circulating it of intentionally misrepresenting the film to incite trouble.
Aditya Dhar Addresses the Smoking Scene Controversy
In a post on Instagram, Aditya Dhar expressed his gratitude for the positive reception of Dhurandhar The Revenge. However, he noted that some individuals are spreading altered visuals by manipulating officially released promotional content using AI, creating misleading narratives. He emphasized that one such image inaccurately shows the character Hamza/Jaskirat smoking while wearing a turban, which is entirely false and not part of the film or any official materials released.
Aditya further stated, "This is a deliberate act of misrepresentation aimed at provoking and causing mischief." He affirmed his deep respect for the Sikh community and assured that every representation in his film has been approached with sensitivity and responsibility. He labeled any attempts to suggest otherwise through doctored images as 'malicious' and 'dishonest.'
Aditya Dhar's Call to Action
In conclusion, Aditya urged the public to rely on the film's official content and to view it as intended. He cautioned against falling victim to AI-generated misinformation that may have ulterior motives, stating, "Such actions will be addressed firmly."
