Mehdi condemned the teaser for its use of derogatory language, asserting that it is hurtful to the sentiments of Kashmiris and especially to those who have suffered injuries from pellet guns during protests. In an interview, he remarked, "It is deeply regrettable that the teaser employs such offensive language. It is disrespectful to Kashmiris and to the victims of pellet injuries. Numerous cases exist where pellet injuries have led to permanent blindness or even fatalities." He urged the filmmakers to retract the teaser and suggested that the producers should revisit their research on the subject.

Kshatriya Parishad Raises Issues with Chauhaan
Prior to Mehdi's remarks, the Kshatriya Parishad, which advocates for Rajput interests, had already raised alarms regarding the film. They accused the filmmakers of exploiting the Chauhan clan's name for political agendas. The group claimed that the creators of Chauhaan are attempting to 'appropriate the Chauhan clan name for modern communal politics' and criticized what they termed the 'weaponization of Rajput history.' They referenced historical figures like Maharana Sanga and Hakim Khan Sur, arguing that medieval Indian history should not be oversimplified into mere communal narratives.
