Controversy Erupts Over Ranveer Singh's Departure from Don 3
Ranveer Singh's Departure Sparks Industry Outcry
The recent decision by Ranveer Singh to exit Don 3 has ignited significant controversy within Bollywood. Following this, the film's producers lodged a formal complaint against him, while the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive. In response, the Producers Guild of India released a statement addressing the situation. Although they did not directly reference the ongoing dispute, they acknowledged receiving complaints from members about a troubling trend of talent, directors, and technicians abandoning their commitments shortly before filming begins. The Guild condemned such actions and warned of serious repercussions.

In their official communication, the Guild remarked, "There have been increasing instances of talent, directors, and technicians reneging on their commitments to producers, often at the last minute." They noted that Excel Entertainment Private Limited and Panorama Studios International Limited had formally complained about these issues arising just days before principal photography was scheduled to start. Excel Entertainment, led by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, has filed a complaint against Ranveer Singh, while the producers of Drishyam 3 have similarly accused Akshaye Khanna of withdrawing from the project shortly before filming was set to commence.
"No industry member should engage in such behavior, which has led to significant financial losses for our member producers and other sectors within the industry," the statement continued, without naming Ranveer directly. They emphasized, "Such actions by any member of the industry have serious and far-reaching consequences, undermining the trust, professionalism, and mutual respect that the film industry relies upon."
Impact on the Industry
The Producers Guild of India further highlighted that these incidents have severely damaged the reputation, credibility, and brand value of the films involved, adversely affecting the livelihoods of numerous technicians and crew members associated with these projects. They reiterated their commitment to fostering a fair working environment and denounced any actions that disrupt film production as unethical and detrimental to collaborative efforts within the industry. The Guild urged all parties to resolve their disputes amicably and pledged to safeguard the interests of the film fraternity.

Ranveer Singh's Legal Response
Ranveer Singh Takes Legal Action
In the wake of FWICE's announcement of a ban-like initiative against him, Ranveer Singh has taken legal action by sending a notice to the organization. Earlier today, FWICE stated that it would retract the non-cooperation directive against Singh and would respond to his notice. This development reportedly followed a request from the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA), the Producers Guild of India, and CINTAA.
