Controversy Erupts Over Aamir Khan's Alleged Discarded Fan Art
Viral Video Sparks Debate on Celebrity Treatment
A recent viral video has ignited discussions online after a social media influencer and artist claimed to have discovered fan-created artwork dedicated to Aamir Khan discarded in a scrapyard in Mumbai. This incident has stirred disappointment among fans, who feel that their efforts are undervalued by the celebrities they admire. Although the authenticity of the claims in the video remains unverified, it has prompted a broader conversation about the culture of celebrity worship in India.
Fan Art Found in Scrapyard
The controversy began when influencer Satya Swagat, known as @logokuhe on Instagram, posted a video from Behram Baug, a second-hand market in Mumbai. In the footage, he showcased a shop filled with various paintings, sketches, and portraits of Aamir Khan, noting the impressive detail and quantity of the fan art. He opened the video with the statement, "I didn't expect this from Aamir Khan."
Initially, the influencer thought the artist might have discarded their own creations. However, the situation took a turn when the shopkeeper allegedly informed him that the artworks had been sent from Aamir Khan’s office as scrap. The shopkeeper reportedly said, “Yeh sab Aamir Khan ke office ke bhangaar mein aaya hai,” which left the influencer feeling shocked and saddened.
In his video, he expressed his disappointment, highlighting the time and passion fans invest in creating such art. He acknowledged that while celebrities may not have the capacity to keep every gift, the artworks could have been treated with more respect, even if the frames were disposed of separately.
The influencer's emotional response deepened when he recounted his experience at the shop, where the shopkeeper offered to sell him a frame at a low price, suggesting he could replace the artwork with something else. This prompted him to buy one of the pieces to preserve it, noting that it was less than a year old. He clarified that his goal was not to incite hatred but to encourage a reevaluation of the idolization of celebrities. However, Aamir Khan or his team have yet to confirm these claims, leaving the incident as a viral topic of discussion.
Public Reactions to the Viral Video
The video has since circulated widely, eliciting mixed reactions on social media. Some users expressed their disappointment and questioned the alleged actions, while others defended the actor. One user remarked, "There is a reason why we should not make actors our ideal," while another added, "I hope people will understand now that worshipping them is a waste of time." A defender of the actor commented, "Are you sure they were really given to Aamir Khan? That second-hand market has a lot of made-up stories; I go there often for antiques." Another fan stated, "He did a good job. Just because he is a celebrity doesn't mean he has to keep all papers and scraps that weren't requested in his home." Some suggested that the actor should have auctioned the art instead of discarding it.
