Colors TV Faces Tough Competition as IPL 2026 Impacts TRP Ratings
BARC TRP Ratings Reveal Colors TV's Struggles
The recently released BARC TRP ratings for week 18 highlight a difficult period for Colors TV, which has seen a decline in its viewership numbers. This downturn is primarily due to the intense competition from the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, which has captured a significant portion of the audience's attention away from regular television shows.
In the latest ratings, the reality series "Laughter Chefs 3" has emerged as the top performer on Colors TV, achieving a rating of 1.5. Following closely is the well-loved supernatural series "Naagin 7," which secured a rating of 1.4. Other ongoing and newly launched fiction shows on the channel mostly lingered around the 1.0 rating, showcasing a highly competitive environment across different genres.
Featuring popular personalities Elvish Yadav and Tejasswi Prakash, "Laughter Chefs 3" has successfully outperformed "Naagin 7," which stars Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Namik Paul. This week's ratings indicate a notable shift in viewer preferences, with reality shows gaining more popularity compared to traditional dramas.
Several other programs on Colors TV recorded ratings of 1.0, including "Mannat," "Seher Hone Ko Hai," "Mangal Lakshmi," and "Mahadev And Sons." The medical drama "Dr. Aarambhi" managed to slightly surpass them with a rating of 1.1. In contrast, "Do Duniya Ek Dil" received a mid-range rating of 0.6, while "Tu Juliet Jatt Di" achieved 0.8. The animated series "The Legend Of Hanuman" trailed behind with a rating of 0.3.
The ratings data suggests a close contest among daily dramas, indicating that viewers are spreading their attention across various titles. With new shows scheduled to launch in June, Colors TV remains hopeful about enhancing its viewership once the IPL 2026 wraps up, aiming to regain its standing in the ratings landscape.
