Box Office Performance of 'Reminders of Him'

Colleen Hoover's recent film adaptation, "Reminders of Him," is approaching the conclusion of its five-week run in theaters, yet it remains a strong contender in the top ten at the domestic box office. As of April 15, this romantic drama, helmed by Vanessa Caswill, was still being shown in over 1,400 locations across North America, adding another $72,000 to its domestic total. The film debuted with an impressive $18 million in North America and has accumulated $47.7 million domestically and $84.5 million globally.

While it is uncertain if "Reminders of Him" will hit the $50 million mark domestically, reaching the $100 million milestone worldwide appears increasingly unlikely. Currently, it ranks among the top 15 highest-grossing films of 2026 globally, according to Box Office Mojo, falling behind Sam Raimi's "Send Help," which has earned $94 million. In comparison to Hoover's earlier adaptation, "Regretting You," released in 2025, "Reminders of Him" still has a considerable distance to cover to surpass its predecessor.

"Regretting You" brought in $90.5 million globally, meaning "Reminders of Him" needs to generate an additional $6 million to exceed that total, a challenging feat at this point in its theatrical run. However, a deeper analysis of the box office performance reveals a different narrative. "Reminders of Him" was produced on an estimated budget of $25 million, while "Regretting You" had a higher budget of $30 million. According to the 2.5x multiplier rule, "Reminders of Him" needed around $62.5 million to break even, compared to the $75 million required for "Regretting You."

Based on current estimates, "Reminders of Him" has produced a theatrical surplus of approximately $22 million, while "Regretting You" has made about $15.5 million over its break-even point. Therefore, despite lagging in total global earnings, "Reminders of Him" has demonstrated greater profitability at the box office. The narrative follows Kenna Rowan, played by Maika Monroe, who returns to her hometown after spending seven years in prison due to a tragic incident that resulted in her boyfriend's death, as she seeks to reconnect with her estranged daughter.

Faced with the community's resentment towards her past, Kenna unexpectedly bonds with Ledger Ward, a former NFL player and local bar owner, portrayed by Tyriq Withers. This relationship provides her with an opportunity for redemption, emphasizing the film's core themes of forgiveness and second chances. As "Reminders of Him" continues its theatrical run, viewers are left to reflect on the intricate dynamics of its characters and the consequences of their decisions.
