The suspect, who resides in Ashok Nagar, Agra, was reportedly motivated by the activities of the Lonkar gang on social media, which led him to target Shetty. Earlier, on March 21, it was reported that the 14th suspect linked to the shooting was captured in Uttar Pradesh, thanks to the efforts of the Mumbai Crime Branch and the UP STF. This individual, known as Golu Pandit, was among the unidentified attackers. Gayaki, along with another detained individual, Samarth Pomaji, left the scooter at a designated spot in Juhu, Mumbai, reportedly following direct orders from Shubham Lonkar.
