Akshay Kumar has reunited with director Priyadarshan for the film Bhooth Bangla, marking their first collaboration in over a decade. The movie, produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films, premiered on April 17, with paid previews starting on April 16 at 9 PM. During these previews, the horror comedy raked in ₹3.75 crore, followed by an impressive opening day collection of ₹12.25 crore. Within just nine days, the film, featuring Akshay, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav, crossed the ₹100 crore milestone at the box office.
Bhooth Bangla's Earnings on Day 10
According to early estimates from Sacnilk, Bhooth Bangla earned ₹12.50 crore on its tenth day, bringing its total earnings to ₹113.40 crore. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film has maintained a strong performance at the box office.
After an opening of ₹12.25 crore, the film earned ₹19 crore on its second day, followed by ₹23 crore on the third day. The fourth day saw a collection of ₹6.75 crore, while the fifth day brought in ₹8 crore. On the sixth day, it earned ₹6.15 crore, and on the seventh day, it collected ₹5.50 crore. The eighth day saw a slight increase with ₹5.75 crore, and on the ninth day, the film experienced a significant boost, earning ₹10.75 crore.
Director Priyadarshan on Late Asrani's Dedication
In a past interview, director Priyadarshan spoke about the late Asrani's dedication to filming Bhooth Bangla despite facing physical challenges. He shared how Asrani was committed to returning to the set even after sustaining an injury. Due to mobility issues, he was provided a chair between takes, but once the action was called, he delivered an outstanding performance without showing any signs of discomfort.
Bhooth Bangla's Streaming Details and Cast
Bhooth Bangla is expected to be available on Netflix after its theatrical run concludes. Typically, films are released for streaming 45 to 60 days post-release, but the producers have yet to confirm the official OTT release date. Alongside Akshay, Paresh, and Rajpal, the cast includes Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar, Manoj Joshi, the late Asrani, Zakir Hussain, Rajesh Sharma, and others.
