A Humorous Parenting Story

Hollywood actor Chris Hemsworth recently recounted a funny parenting blunder that left him in a bind at the airport. He accidentally brought the wrong passport for one of his children, specifically his daughter India’s passport, when he intended to use it for one of their twin sons. In a conversation with Elsa Pataky for Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Hemsworth shared that he only realized his error after airport staff questioned the identification.

“I actually went to the airport once and I had my daughter’s passport instead of my son’s passport,” Hemsworth explained. He humorously noted that the two passports looked similar. Pataky quickly chimed in, jokingly stating, “They don’t.” Despite recognizing the mix-up, Hemsworth attempted to convince the officials, saying, ‘Oh, yeah, this is her.’ However, they responded, ‘That’s a boy. No,’ which made it clear that his plan was futile. Consequently, Hemsworth and his son were unable to board the flight.

The couple, married since 2010, has three children: 13-year-old India and 11-year-old twins Sasha and Tristan.

Interestingly, Hemsworth's children have started to play a more significant role in his professional life. India made her acting debut alongside her father in the 2022 Marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder, portraying the character Love opposite Hemsworth’s Thor. The father-daughter duo is set to reunite in the upcoming Marvel film Avengers: Doomsday. However, Hemsworth recently mentioned that persuading India to return to the franchise was not straightforward.

During an appearance on The View earlier this year, Hemsworth humorously revealed that he had to negotiate with India before she agreed to join the set. “In the end, I had to bribe her to come onto set,” he said. She initially protested, saying, ‘I’m not coming! I’m not even getting paid! What am I even doing here?’ However, she changed her mind once she learned she would be compensated for her work. Hemsworth noted that India, who enjoys racing and riding motorbikes, became interested in whether her earnings could help her buy a new bike.
