Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth is gearing up to both star in and produce a feature film that draws inspiration from Australia's famed Tatts Finke Desert Race. According to reports from Deadline, Hemsworth's production company, Wild State, has entered into a unique collaboration with the race organizers to develop several projects focused on this demanding two-day motorsport event. The film, which will feature Hemsworth in a prominent role, is currently in its initial development phase, with the screenplay being penned by writers Ricky Staub and Dan Walser.

Alongside the feature film, Wild State is also creating unscripted content related to the race. A standout project will document freestyle motocross icon Robbie Maddison as he participates in the Finke Desert Race for the first time. This year is particularly special as the event celebrates its 50th anniversary in June, attracting motorsport fans from around the globe.

Through Wild State, Hemsworth has previously produced a range of successful projects, including the Disney+ series "Limitless with Chris Hemsworth," the Netflix action series "Extraction," and the forthcoming Apple sci-fi mystery "Corsair Code." His production company aims to showcase captivating stories and experiences, making the Finke Desert Race project a perfect fit for this mission.

Currently, Hemsworth is engaged in filming the third installment of the "Extraction" series.
