Charlie Cox Confirms No Role in Avengers: Secret Wars – What’s Next for Daredevil?
Charlie Cox's Update on Avengers: Secret Wars
Charlie Cox, famed for his role as Daredevil, has officially announced that he will not be part of the upcoming film "Avengers: Secret Wars," leaving many fans disappointed. Following his recent appearances in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" as the lawyer for Peter Parker and the anticipated series "Born Again," there was considerable speculation regarding his involvement in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). However, Cox has made it clear that he will not be joining the Avengers.
During a panel at MCM Comic Con, Cox responded to inquiries about his participation in "Avengers: Secret Wars," which is slated for release in December 2027. He humorously stated, "No, I'm not going to be in it, no," as reported by ScreenRant. He added, "And you should believe me now. I’m not a liar." This comes after he previously denied involvement in Tom Holland's "Spider-Man" films, which turned out to be true, contrasting with Andrew Garfield's rumored participation.
In October 2025, Cox had also quashed rumors about appearing in "Spider-Man," asserting, "I'm not, I'm not in Spider-Man" during a London event. Despite his reassurances, many fans remained doubtful, given the surprising nature of superhero cameos. Nonetheless, Cox is dedicated to his role as Daredevil, with plans to return in Season 3 of "Born Again," set to premiere in early 2027.
Meanwhile, the Avengers are preparing for their next significant confrontation in "Avengers: Doomsday," which will be released on December 17, 2026. This film boasts an impressive cast, including Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Florence Pugh, Channing Tatum, Vanessa Kirby, Danny Ramirez, and Simu Liu. The plot will see the Avengers battling against Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, promising an exhilarating continuation of the franchise.
As fans look forward to the next installment in the MCU, Cox's absence from "Avengers: Secret Wars" highlights the unpredictable nature of superhero films and the ongoing development of character arcs within the Marvel universe. While Daredevil may not be joining the Avengers just yet, his return in "Born Again" is highly anticipated, ensuring the character remains alive in the hearts of fans worldwide.
