Despite facing a tax evasion scandal, Cha Eun-Woo's photography exhibition titled Afterimage is set to proceed in Ginza, Tokyo. The ASTRO member's agency confirmed that the exhibition will showcase his photographic works. Earlier this year, Cha Eun-Woo was under investigation by the Seoul Regional Tax Office for alleged tax evasion amounting to around 20 billion KRW (approximately $13.7 million). This exhibition marks his first public event since the controversy emerged. Currently serving in the military, he will not be present at the exhibition.

The Afterimage exhibition is scheduled to run from March 28 to May 12 in Tokyo. Cha Eun-Woo's agency, Fantagio, stated that the project was initiated with a contract signed in August 2024, and it is proceeding as planned. The exhibition will feature a theme titled 'An Ordinary Day,' showcasing various snapshots from Cha Eun-Woo's daily life, divided into seven distinct time zones and spaces. These images will also connect to his photo album Me: Unbox, which is set to be released in 2025.

He was informed by the National Tax Service of an additional tax assessment exceeding 20 billion KRW (approximately $13.6 million). Following the public revelation of these charges on January 22, Cha Eun-Woo addressed the issue on his Instagram account on January 26, offering an apology. Recently, it was announced that he would be replaced in the KFN Plus series That Day in the Military due to the ongoing scandal, with Rowoon stepping in as the new host for the military history program.
