Celebrities Clash with Paparazzi: A Look at Recent Incidents
The Tense Relationship Between Stars and Paparazzi
The dynamic between celebrities and paparazzi has always been complex. While these photographers keep stars in the public eye, they often invade their privacy, leading to moments of frustration. Recently, several veteran actors have openly expressed their displeasure with the intrusive behavior of cameramen.
One of the most notable incidents involved superstar Salman Khan, who confronted paparazzi outside a hospital in Mumbai where he was visiting someone. As he exited, photographers shouted his name and the title of his upcoming film, *Matrubhoomi*. An upset Salman approached them and exclaimed, "Are you guys crazy?"
Salman's frustration didn't stop there; he took to social media to express his feelings in a series of posts. He lamented that the press he once supported was now taking pleasure in his distress. He issued a stern reminder, stating, "I may have turned sixty, but I haven't forgotten how to fight—remember that." He questioned the priorities of those cheering for his film, emphasizing that a movie should never take precedence over a person's well-being during tough times.
Another veteran actress, Jaya Bachchan, is frequently in the news for her confrontations with paparazzi. At an event in 2025, she admonished photographers for their unprofessional behavior, saying, "You can take your photos, but please be polite. Stay quiet, take your pictures, and move on."
Saif Ali Khan, known as the Nawab of Pataudi, has also voiced his concerns about paparazzi behavior. This occurred when he was at his son Jeh Ali Khan's football practice. Noticing photographers filming the children, Saif intervened, stating, "The kids are playing football; don’t turn this into a film event."
In 2025, Sunny Deol, the star of *Gadar*, also expressed his anger towards the paparazzi. This happened when his father, veteran actor Dharmendra, returned home from the hospital to find a throng of media outside their house. Worried about his father's health, Sunny shouted, "You should be ashamed; you are acting foolishly, just recording videos without thought."
Shahid Kapoor, often referred to as Bollywood's "Chocolate Boy," has also shown his irritation with paparazzi on multiple occasions. Last year, while attending a school event with his wife Mira, he became frustrated with the constant camera flashes near his car. Concerned for the children's safety and privacy, he told the photographers, "Please don’t do this with the kids; you’ve already taken enough pictures."
