The jury for the upcoming Cannes Film Festival in 2026 has been officially announced. Previously, only the jury president, Park Chan-wook, was revealed. The complete list now includes notable figures such as Demi Moore, Chloé Zhao, and Stellan Skarsgård. This esteemed panel will evaluate all 22 films competing for the prestigious Palme d'Or award. Although Frankenstein star Jacob Elordi was expected to join the jury, he had to withdraw due to a foot injury. The festival is scheduled to take place from May 12 to 23, 2026.
Cannes Film Festival 2026 Jury Members
The festival's social media channels shared the names of the jury members, which include American actress Demi Moore, Ethiopian-Irish actress Ruth Negga, Belgian director Laura Wandel, Chinese filmmaker Chloé Zhao, Chilean director Diego Céspedes, Ivorian-American actor Isaach De Bankolé, Scottish screenwriter Paul Laverty, and Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård, alongside Park Chan-wook.
Many jury members have strong ties to Cannes. Moore's film The Substance, directed by Coralie Fargeat, won the best screenplay award in 2024. Skarsgård and the cast of Sentimental Value showcased their Oscar-nominated film at Cannes last year. Wandel's film Adam’s Sake was featured during Cannes’ Critics Week, while Laverty penned The Wind that Shakes the Barley and I, Daniel Blake, both of which earned the Palme d’Or for Ken Loach. Additionally, Céspedes received the Un Certain Regard prize at Cannes last year for his debut film The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo.
Last year's festival saw French actress Juliette Binoche as president, with the main award going to It Was Just an Accident by Jafar Panahi. This year, films from directors such as James Gray, Asghar Farhadi, Pedro Almodóvar, Paweł Pawlikowski, Ira Sachs, Hirokazu Kore-eda, László Nemes, and Ryusuke Hamaguchi are in the running for the Palme d'Or.
Jacob Elordi's Withdrawal from the Jury
Initially, Jacob Elordi, known for his role in Euphoria, was slated to be part of the Cannes jury. However, he had to step down after suffering a foot injury, as reported by Page Six. The jury's schedule is quite demanding, involving not only film screenings but also attending premieres, press events, photo calls, and parties along the Croisette.
Elordi is set to appear in the upcoming film Dog Stars and is currently featured in the third season of HBO's Euphoria. He has also been seen with Kendall Jenner at various popular locations in California, including the Coachella Music Festival.
