Introduction to the Controversy

Recently, private messages between BTS member V and Min Hee-Jin, the former CEO of ADOR, were leaked online, revealing V's support for her. Following the circulation of these messages, which included a clarification from Taehyung, many netizens speculated that Min might have orchestrated the leak to bolster her position. What began as a confidential court submission in a lengthy legal dispute between HYBE and Min Hee-Jin has escalated into a public uproar. Min's legal counsel has now publicly stated that she was not involved in the leak of these messages.

Confidentiality of the Messages

Min Hee-Jin's Desire for Confidentiality

The messages that have stirred controversy were reportedly submitted as evidence in an ongoing lawsuit concerning a put option dispute between HYBE and Min Hee-Jin. Her attorney, Kim Seong Woo, asserted that the evidence was filed with a request for confidentiality. However, parts of the conversation were later leaked to the media, leading to significant backlash regarding the invasion of Taehyung's privacy. During a recent interview, Attorney Kim emphasized that Min Hee-Jin had no part in the leak, stating, “There is nothing for us to comment on,” and clarified that the evidence was meant to remain sealed. He expressed uncertainty about how the sealed documents were disclosed to the media and suggested that the media outlet and the court should address the issue.

Speculations Surrounding the Leak

His comments have led to increased speculation about the source of the leak, with some suggesting that HYBE, the opposing party in the lawsuit, might be involved. Fans have taken to social media to express their suspicions, with one user commenting, "HYBE is using BTS's hard-earned money to fuel disputes instead of improving their treatment of the idols," while another noted, "The same reporter who leaked Taehyung's messages has released what seems to be an advertisement for ADOR, indicating that HYBE may have leaked V's private messages."

Min Hee-Jin's Generous Proposal

Min Hee-Jin's Offer to HYBE

In a recent press conference held in Seoul, Min Hee-Jin demonstrated her commitment to NewJeans by making a significant proposal. She expressed her willingness to forgo the 25.6 billion KRW (approximately $18 million USD) she was awarded in the initial trial, but only under one condition.

“I stand here today to announce that I have decided to exchange the 25.6 billion KRW I would receive from this victory for another value,” she stated, emphasizing that there was something she valued more than the money. Min proposed that HYBE immediately cease all ongoing lawsuits, both civil and criminal, and resolve all disputes completely. “The biggest reason is NewJeans,” she explained, referring to the girl group under ADOR. “I can no longer watch a reality where five members who should be happily standing on stage must instead stand in courtrooms.” She urged for all complaints against the artists, their families, and fans to be withdrawn, calling for an end to what she described as reckless noise surrounding the situation.

However, shortly after Min's appeal, HYBE deposited 29.2 billion KRW to the District Court. Is this the start of a new conflict? Will the public ever learn who leaked V's messages? Stay tuned for updates!
