Box Office Update: 'Toxic' Sees Decline in Earnings on Day 4
Box Office Performance of 'Toxic' on Day 4
Toxic Box Office Collection Day 4: The film ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’, featuring South superstar Yash, had a remarkable opening day at the box office, grossing approximately ₹101.10 crore net in India. However, the film has experienced a steady decline in daily earnings since then. On its fourth day, which was Saturday, it earned around ₹24.50 crore net in India.
Continued Decline in Earnings
According to data from trade tracker Sacnilk, ‘Toxic’ collected about ₹24.50 crore net on its fourth day, bringing its total domestic net collection to approximately ₹190.45 crore. The film's gross collection in India is reported to be around ₹227.50 crore.
Looking at the film's earnings trajectory, it started with ₹101.10 crore on the first day, followed by ₹37.65 crore on the second day, ₹27.20 crore on the third day, and ₹24.50 crore on the fourth day. This indicates a consistent decline in earnings after the opening day.
Significant Drop from Opening Day
The ₹24.50 crore earned on the fourth day represents a decrease of approximately 75.8% compared to the opening day’s ₹101.10 crore. However, this figure is only about 9.9% lower than the earnings from the third day, suggesting that despite the significant drop, the film managed to stabilize its earnings somewhat on the fourth day.
Hindi Version Leads Earnings
On the fourth day, the Hindi version of ‘Toxic’ contributed the most to its earnings. Reports indicate that it earned around ₹15.50 crore in Hindi, ₹6.60 crore in Kannada, ₹1.50 crore in Telugu, ₹75 lakh in Tamil, and approximately ₹15 lakh in Malayalam.
This indicates that the film is attracting a good audience in the Hindi-speaking regions, while the original Kannada version also played a crucial role in its overall box office performance.
Worldwide Collection Exceeds ₹250 Crore
Despite the decline in domestic earnings, the film has crossed a significant milestone on the worldwide front. By the fourth day, ‘Toxic’ achieved a worldwide gross collection of approximately ₹254.75 crore. It earned about ₹4 crore overseas on the fourth day, bringing its total overseas gross to around ₹27.25 crore.
Approaching ₹200 Crore Mark
With a net collection of ₹190.45 crore in India over four days, the film is now not far from the ₹200 crore mark. If the earnings see a good increase on Sunday, it could soon surpass the ₹200 crore net figure at the domestic box office.
Star-Studded Cast
Directed by Geethu Mohandas, ‘Toxic’ features a star-studded cast including Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth in significant roles. The film was released on August 26, 2026, in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
The film has received mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike. Nevertheless, Yash's star power and the pre-release buzz contributed significantly to its impressive opening.
Looking Ahead to Sunday’s Earnings
Sunday is a crucial day for ‘Toxic’. The film had a strong opening with over ₹100 crore on its first day, but it has seen a significant drop in earnings since then. It remains to be seen how the weekend audience turnout will affect the film's box office performance.
Currently, the data from the first four days indicates that while ‘Toxic’ had a very strong start, its box office momentum has slowed down post-opening. Nonetheless, it is nearing the ₹200 crore domestic net collection and has already surpassed ₹250 crore worldwide.
