Box Office Surge for 'Udta Teer' on Day Two
Significant Growth in Earnings
The spy comedy film 'Udta Teer', directed by Akash Kaushik, experienced a slow start upon its release. However, the film saw a remarkable increase in box office earnings on its second day, Saturday. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, the movie recorded a 76.8% rise in domestic box office collections on its second day.
Produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, 'Udta Teer' has grossed ₹16.28 crores worldwide within just two days. The film opened with ₹4.10 crores from 6,265 screens on its first day (Friday), but despite a slight decrease in the number of screens to 6,164 on Saturday, it capitalized on the weekend, earning ₹7.25 crores.
This brings the total net earnings in India to ₹11.35 crores (grossing ₹13.53 crores). If the film maintains this momentum on its first Sunday, it could secure a spot among Ayushmann Khurrana's top five opening weekend collections.
Due to slow advance bookings, 'Udta Teer' did not rank among Khurrana's top five opening day films, landing in eighth place domestically. Nevertheless, it surpassed the opening day collections of his previous films this year, 'Pati Patni Aur Woh 2' (₹3.85 crores) and 'Doctor G' (₹3.50 crores).
Additionally, compared to other Bollywood releases this Friday, such as Gulshan Devaiah's 'Little Thomas', 'Pehla Pyaar Doosri Baar', and Sonakshi Sinha's 'Tu Hai Meri Kiran', 'Udta Teer' emerged as the top opener. With the highly anticipated film 'Ramayana' set to release on November 5, 'Udta Teer' has a great opportunity to perform well in theaters.
